Meet our experienced and friendly team who makes Coal Mountain Eye Care a proud provider of vision care products and services in Georgia.
Dr. Bordner grew up in Fresno, California. Following high school, he served a two-year church mission in Venezuela, becoming fluent in Spanish and developing a love for learning about other cultures.
Following his service, Dr. Bordner earned his Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science at Brigham Young University. During college, Dr. Bordner worked as an ophthalmic technician, where he developed his passion for eye care. That passion led him to attend the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.
During his training, Dr. Bordner gained valuable experience in retinal, corneal, diabetic, and glaucoma eye diseases in Charleston, SC. In 2013, Dr. Bordner earned his Doctorate of Optometry.
Dr. Bordner practices comprehensive optometry and has a special interest in dry eye, ocular disease, and myopia control. He sees patients of all ages and loves being a part of the North Atlanta community.
While not in the office, Dr. Bordner enjoys spending time with his wife and five children. He also enjoys sports of all types.
Dr. Kuck’s love for eyes started at a young age when he underwent successful vision therapy and continued to grow through years of wearing glasses and contact lenses.
Dr. Kuck completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brigham Young University, then went on to achieve his Doctor of Optometry in 2020 at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.
After school, he began practicing in North Georgia. He and his family have lived in Cumming since 2019, and he looks forward to helping patients in Cumming with their vision and eye health needs.
He enjoys all aspects of primary care optometry, but he specializes in specialty contact lenses and ocular diseases, like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy, where he uses the latest technology to help his patients achieve their vision and health goals.
When he is not at work, he enjoys gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his wife and 3 girls. He also loves following the Atlanta sports teams, especially the Braves!

As the Optical Manager at Coal Mountain Eye Care, Patti brings a passion for eye care, precision, and customer service to every patient interaction. With extensive experience in optical management and eyewear styling, she ensures that each patient receives personalized recommendations tailored to their vision needs and lifestyle.
Patti oversees daily optical operations, from frame selection and lens design to staff training and quality assurance. Known for her attention to detail and dedication to patient satisfaction, Patti helps make every visit both professional and enjoyable.
Outside of the optical, she enjoys spending time with her three boys and traveling.
